The Best Way to Reheat Holiday Leftovers

I’ve found that reheating leftovers in a pan maintains the taste, texture and overall quality of the food over reheating in the microwave. It only takes about 5 minutes or so. I use a large skillet and add a little pat of butter or a splash of avocado oil to the pan and get it hot.

I then place the meat, potatoes and sweet potatoes in the pan and let them heat a minute or so and then add in the vegetables. I put a lid on the skillet and let it warm for about 2 minutes and then I flip the meat, stir the potatoes and the vegetables. I keep everything separated in the skillet. Then let it cook another 2 minutes or so until your meat is heated through and then you’ve got a very fresh tasting leftover meal.

If we are all lining up to use the microwave, I guarantee it will take just as long to get to eating the meal. And, everyone gets to eat it hot at once instead of when the microwave is done. We don’t mind eating leftovers at my house, especially if we reheat them in a skillet!
